Rosie’s Story

We went and met Rosie over the summer and fell in love with her! We knew she would be perfect for our lesson program! We noticed she had an abscess on her face and asked what was going on. They thought they were fighting an infection from a bad tooth. We picked Rosie up mid October and starter her journey to recovery. Little did we know what a long process it would be!

As soon as Rosie arrived at our farm, we started her treatment with antibiotics. We had the vet out to take x-rays and quickly learned that we were dealing with a much larger issue. At some point in the past couple years, Rosie had endured some major trauma to her jaw and it was actually broken! This is what had caused her bad teeth! Not just one but three! We came up with an aggressive plan to get Rosie to the hospital and have those teeth removed. Her first hospital stay did not go as planned. It turns out, Rosie also has some allergies and was having a very bad reaction to being in a warm barn and on straw. Her surgery had to get pushed back so she could come home and get treated for her respiratory issues first. She made her second trip back to the hospital just a couple of weeks later. Having some respiratory trouble once again and spending 5 days in the hospital. They were able to get everything under control and finally removed the infected teeth. Rosie is finally home and happy to be infection free!! Rosie has her own FB page (Rosie Shenanigans) and welcomes you to follow along! We have ongoing raffles on her page to help with the cost of her unexpected hospital stays.

How Rosie will GIVE BACK…..

On her FB page she has raffles going on continuously. Once Rosie’s medical bills are all taken care of, she will be working to help other horses in need. You never know when or where an illness or accident will happen. A lot of times we are not fully prepared to endure the cost and we have to make very difficult decisions. We are super grateful to be able to give Rosie the life she deserves and we would like to help other horses just like her! Please visit her page and bid on some raffles! It’s fun to play along and all for a GREAT cause! Thank you all for your love and support!!
